ABOUT ME

NO NONSENSE

Yoga and Pilates Teacher and Senior Technical Instructor NHS

Hi, I’m Cara a Yoga and Pilates teacher with six years of teaching experience, and a deep belief in movement that is balanced, thoughtful, and genuinely supportive of
real life.

What led me into Yoga and Pilates

My journey into movement began after a running injury - a turning point that made me realise how little attention I’d given to the rest of my body. Yoga and Pilates showed me the power of a more balanced, considerate approach to movement, and how transformative it can be when strength, mobility, breath, and awareness work together. That experience is what sparked my desire to teach.

In 2025, I completed the London Marathon with a smile, injury-free throughout training and with a smooth, quick recovery I firmly believe because of my Yoga and Pilates practice. It reinforced everything I believe about intelligent movement, consistency, and respecting the body rather than pushing against it.

I trained as a Yoga Teacher in 2020 during the pandemic, a time that was both challenging and transformative. I completed my training with Rosie Lux BA (Hons), MA (Hons), Yoga Teacher and Trainer, an experience that required resilience, adaptability, and trust in the process. That period shaped not only how I teach, but
how I hold space for others - with patience, empathy, and realism.

In 2022, I went on to train as a Pilates Instructor with the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute, completing all three Matwork levels and final examinations. I was exceptionally selective about both of my trainings, choosing programmes that prioritised integrity, depth, and personal growth. Each allowed me the space to develop into the teacher I am today, and I’ve loved supporting clients through mindful, effective movement ever since.

My other job

Alongside teaching, I work as a Senior Technical Instructor for Elective Orthopaedics at the Princess Royal Hospital in Sussex. This role reenforces myalready strong grounding in anatomy, rehabilitation, and recovery, and I’m incredibly proud of the dedication it took to get here. I bring this clinical insight into every class and 1–2–1 session, blending it seamlessly with mindful movement and practical
application.

I’m not perfect, and I’m certainly not here to preach. My classes focus on building strong, stable foundations while staying present, breath-aware, and relaxed. We move with purpose, challenge habitual movement patterns (which keeps the brain busy too!), and develop confidence - physically, mentally, and cognitively. And
yes, there’s always room to smile, ask questions, and enjoy the process.

What sets me apart as a teacher is the combination of professional expertise and lived experience. I understand the demands of sport, work, life, and the occasional injury, and I design sessions that are safe, approachable, and enjoyable. There’s no pressure, no judgment, and no spiritual angle - just practical tools that support the activities you love and help you feel capable in your body.

Above all, my aim is to create a space where clients feel supported, encouraged, and free to explore what their bodies can do. That’s why I teach - with experience, warmth, and a good dose of humour.
